Henry W. Lim
Dear members of the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS), friends and colleagues,
Planning is already well underway for our next World Congress of Dermatology in Guadalajara, Mexico from the 21st to the 26th of June 2027. It will be the ILDS’s 26th World Congress and will build upon the success of WCD 2023 in Singapore. I am extremely grateful to the WCD 2027 President Jorge Ocampo- Candiani, WCD 2027 Secretary-General Mariel Isa and WCD 2027 Organizing Committees for their hard work and wonderful enthusiasm as they plan to bring the global dermatological community to Mexico.
In beautiful Guadalajara, surrounded by tradition and modernity, we will be hosted with professionalism and passion by ILDS Members the Mexican Academy of Dermatology, Mexican Society of Dermatology, Mexican Society of Cosmetic Dermatologic & Laser, and Mexican Society of Dermatologic Surgery & Oncology for a global highlight in dermatology. They are working to deliver a memorable experience to delegates and sponsors as the World Congress of Dermatology returns to Latin America for only the third time in its history.
The World Congress of Dermatology is a cornerstone in the ILDS vision to attain the best possible skin health for all people around the world. I am excited to see how the wider ILDS membership is collaborating with our Mexican colleagues to make WCD 2027 a globally inclusive event, fostering high-level dermatological education, exchange of professional knowledge and skills, with the aim of improving our specialty and patient care.
The WCD 2027 Scientific Programme Committee, headed by Lars French (Chair) and Manubu Fujimoto (Vice-Chair) are developing an innovative and wide-ranging scientific programme. It will be a programme of depth, quality, global representation, practical relevance and inspiration. I am confident that everyone from trainees to experienced practitioners and researchers will benefit from the exciting scientific and social program offered in Guadalajara.
It is a true honor to be the ILDS President. With over 206 Members from 101 countries, supported by a wonderful ILDS office team in London, we are delivering on our agenda to successfully promote skin health globally, through partnerships with dedicated dermatologists, patient representatives, nurses, allied health professionals, and industry. From now till June 2027, there will be many opportunities to hear more about plans for the 2027 WCD and how you can be involved and please follow us for the latest news on ILDS and WCD social media accounts on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
I invite you all to join us on this journey to Guadalajara and to improving skin health together as we discover the dermatology ecosystem for a diverse and inclusive future.
